- Sachiyo Hoshino
- Born in Tokyo. Completed the Kobe University Graduate School of Human Sciences (currently the Graduate School of Human Development and Environment). After working for Nippon Yusen Kaisha and then Morgan Stanley Japan Limited, she has been with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific-Fukuoka since 2004. Following her involvement in the Iraq reconstruction programme as an Iraq Programmes Expert, she currently, in her capacity as Special Adviser to the Director, conducts projects in the area of the environment, such as waste and water supply and sewerage in Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. For her activities in Japan, she serves as a committee member, etc. at local governments, public institutions, educational institutions and other entities.
